Georgia Strickfaden of Los Alamos has been named the 2015 Tourism Professional of the Year by the New Mexico Hospitality Association.
New Mexico Tourism Secretary Rebecca Latham presented Strickfaden with the award during the annual Hospitality Awards event this evening at the Sheraton Uptown in Albuquerque.
Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce Marketing Manager Ryn Herrmann nominated Strickfaden for the statewide honor.
Buffalo Tours' owner, Georgia Strickfaden, was born and raised in nuclear age Los Alamos, NM. As a former school teacher and with a passion for showing off the depth and breadth of Los Alamos history and its setting in northern New Mexico, she launched her small van-tour company in 1985.
Being associated with Los Alamos Historical Society and other community entities gives her the opportunity to hang out with published historians, researchers, movers and shakers. It's still her joy to personally meet and share the Los Alamos experience with visitors
Thanks for visiting Los Alamos, where discoveries are made!
